Silk Dupioni … hooked on phonics?

Silk dupioni. Need I say more? Ok I’m going to say more. It conjures up the distinct feel and texture of this ever-so-lovely fabric. It’s pronounced dupioni (doo pee OH nee).

Josephine’s Dry Goods downtown (if you’ve never been there you’ll swoon over the sumptuous fabrics, incredible buttons and unique patterns) is teaching a class ini fabric collage jackets.

Fabric Collage Jackets

Use your favorite colors of silk dupioni as a starting point for your fabric collage jacket. Then add more great fabrics from Josephine’s and learn to combine fibers – silk, rayon, cotton, wool and synthetics – and blend colors, prints, plaids and stripes into a one-of-a-kind work of art. Create wonderful surface textures with slicing and origami techniques and piece fabrics into your collage design. Then set off the sections of your collage and finish the edges of your jacket with bias tape – made with the Bias Tape Maker.fabriccollagejackets_031

And, they’re sending out a 20% coupon on all silk dupioni solid colors. Tell them I sent you! It won’t get you anything more but it will help my karma! Hehe
